Credit Controller

Department: Accounts
Reporting To: Manager – Credit Control
Location: Dubai, UAE

Role Purpose / Summary

We are looking for a proactive and responsible Credit Controller to support the Credit Control team in managing customer outstanding balances, ensuring timely collection of premiums, monitoring payment terms, and maintaining accurate records.
The role requires regular coordination with clients, internal teams, and insurance companies to ensure payments are collected within agreed credit terms and policy payment deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Follow up with clients for outstanding premium payments and ensure timely collection.
  2. Monitor daily/weekly ageing reports and prioritize overdue accounts for follow-up.
  3. Send payment reminders, statements of account, and overdue notifications to clients
  4. Monitor Premium Payment Warranty (PPW) and other insurer payment deadlines to avoid policy cancellation or disruption in coverage
  5. Coordinate with Account Executives, Sales and Operations teams regarding overdue payments.
  6. Maintain proper records of client payment commitments and follow up on agreed payment dates.
  7. Track PDCs, payment arrangements and instalment plans and ensure payments are received as committed.
  8. Escalate long-overdue or high-risk accounts to the Credit Control Manager on a timely basis.
  9. Support the team in achieving monthly collection targets and reducing overdue receivables.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
  • Experience in insurance brokerage or the insurance industry will be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of ageing, reconciliation, collections and credit control processes.
  • Strong communication and client follow-up skills
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Experience Requirement

  • 2–3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in insurance brokerage or the insurance industry will be an advantage.
